State Coordinator: Mr. Michael Herdina
My name is Michael Herdina and I am the Director of Outreach and Development at the Gallatin History Museum.
I graduated from Manhattan High School in 2002. I also graduated from the University of Montana Western in 2007 with a degree in Secondary Education with specialties in History and English. I am also in the process of finishing an endorsement in Spanish. In my time as a teacher I have been afforded many opportunities such as studying with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History in Boulder, CO. I have also been elected to the Board of Directors for the Montana Council for History and Civics Education.
In my educational career, Gallatin Gateway School is my third stop. Prior to Gateway, I taught and coached for four years and Harlowton Schools in Harlowton, MT. Prior to Harlowton, I taught and coached for two years at Melstone Schools in Melstone, MT.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my wife Sara, my three year old son Gabriel, and my one year old daughter Rose. We enjoy reading, hiking, playing different sports and just spending time with one another.
